He Is The Wound That Never Heals

(Published in Sunday Mornings At The River Vol. 1)

I keep pouring love over
The wound that never heals

Woman as wolf
Wolf as woman

Wild and unfurled

Pink petals
After a dark storm

Open jaws
At open wound

Love keeps pouring in
Pain keeps spilling out

Pale posies
Gentle stem bending

Here
Lover, here —
My swan throat
